Anatoliy Gornisevych Deputy Director of Ukrpatent He was born on August 5, 1945 in Kyiv. Up to 14 he was brought up in Dubno (Rivne region) Children’s Home. Education In 1960-1964 he studied in Kyiv Radio Electronics Technical School. In 1971 he graduated by correspondence from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, specialization – “Automatics and telemechanics”, in 1985 – Central Institute for Advanced Professional Development in Moscow with specialization in patenting. Labor Activities He started out as a laboratory assistant at “Arsenal” plant in 1963. Upon serving in the Soviet Army worked at the plant as a senior engineer up to 1982. Since then he applied himself to elective work in Kyiv City Council of the All-Union Society of Inventors & Innovators as a Chairman of ASII Board of “Arsenal Plant” Production Association. In 1992 he was transferred to Derzhpatent of Ukraine to the post of a chief specialist, afterwards being upgraded to a Head of the Law and Patent Policy Department. From 1994 he is a Deputy Chairman of the State Commission of Ukraine for Testing and Protection of Plant Varieties. From August, 2000 he worked as a Deputy Director of State Enterprise “Ukrainian Institute of Industrial Property” (Ukrpatent), Head of Industrial Property Division of the State Department of Intellectual Property, afterwards was again appointed a Deputy Director of Ukrpatent (April, 2001). Awards: Medals "For Labor Valour" (1976), "In Commemoration of 1500-th Kyiv Anniversary" (1982), "Labor Veteran" (1990), a bronze medal of the USSR National Economy Achievement Exhibition (1983); Lenin Komsomol Prize (1978); diplomas of the USSR’s Defense Industry Ministry (1982), State Patent Office of Ukraine (1997), Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (2002). Scientific and Teaching Activities He was engaged in research nominated for Lenin Komsomol Prize. He is an author of 18 inventions and several scientific studies, he participated in elaboration of the Ukrainian laws in the field of intellectual property. He is teaching “Protection of Intellectual Property Rights” at the Institute of Intellectual Property and Law. Family Status He is married and has a son.
