In March, 2009 State Department of Intellectual Property received 448 applications for inventions, 839 applications for utility models, 1516 applications for trademarks and service marks under national procedure, 706 - under the Madrid Agreement. Total amount of the registered documents in March, 2009 made up 2646 documents of title.

The PIB’s CD-ROM & DVD-ROM collection as of April 1, 2009 contains 12570 discs. PIB contains national patent documentation and foreign patent-information products (in general on modern electronic media – CD-ROM & DVD-ROM) coming from the Patent Offices of the leading countries as well as international intellectual property organizations (EPO, WIPO).

The total PPDC collection on optical media as of April 1, 2009 reached almost 14400 discs. PPDC is also supplied with standards, methodical, reference-information and serial publications. Data about the update of PPDC with new publications are presented quarterly in the Ukrainian version of this web site.

The third number 2009 of "Intelektualna Vlasnist" ("Intellectual Property") magazine is being prepared for publishing.

International Patent Classification (2009) has come into force in Ukraine. The single information and reference system (IRS) "International Patent Classification. Core Level (2009).Ukrainian Version (2009.01)" has been placed on Ukrpatent's web-site.

Total amount of the registered documents of title made up 252671 as of 01.03.2009: 90673 patents for inventions, including registered inventor’s certificates and 20-year after short ones; 39586 patents for utility models; 18454 patents for industrial designs; 103936 certificates for trademarks and service marks, including divisional applications; 11 integrated circuit topographies; 6 registrations of qualified indication of origin of goods; 5 certificates for the right of use the registered qualified indication of origin.

Total amount of the registered documents in February, 2009 made up 3191 documents of title.

PIB is a patent documentation search file for official use intended for determining the state of the art during substantive examination of patent applications. PIB was established in accordance with Decree of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine No. 3769 “On the Entry into Force of the Law of Ukraine “On the Protection of Rights to Inventions and Utility Models” of December 23, 1993 and put into operation on July 1, 1997. PIB contains national patent documentation and foreign patent-information products (in general on modern electronic media – CD-ROM & DVD-ROM) coming from the Patent Offices of the leading countries as well as international intellectual property organizations (EPO, WIPO).
